Following the continued effect of the Coronavirus pandemic, European Professional Club Rugby had to make the unenviable decision to move the European Rugby Finals from Marseille for a second year in a row.
After successfully helping EPCR host the Heineken Cup Final in Bristol in October 2020, once the decision was made to host both finals at Twickenham Stadium Sportsrooms were proud and honoured to be asked to work with EPCR to arrange accommodation for both the Heineken Cup Final and European Challenge Cup Final.
Due to the nature of the relocation of the Finals, the timescale for organising was very short with the venue of the final only being confirmed three weeks prior to the Finals themselves.
As part of the remit Sportsrooms were responsible for sourcing hotel accommodation for all four finalist teams along with accommodation bookings for match officials, workforce, VIPs and sponsors across hotels throughout South West London.
Having worked with Premiership Rugby teams for many years, Sportsrooms knowledge and experience of elite rugby team requirements allowed the company to source the very best and most experienced hotels to ensure a great stay for all the finalist teams. Sportsrooms managed the various requirements of match officials, EPCR workforce and elite guests and sponsors, working through the specific needs of each group for their stay in London.
Sportsrooms staff worked onsite for the duration of the weekend to ensure all teams, guests and stakeholders were given the very best experience and service from our hotel partners and deliver the most enjoyable finals weekend experience possible.
One of the most exciting things about the Finals was that for the first time since the start of the pandemic 10,000 fans were allowed at Twickenham Stadium bringing to life both Finals and making the experience of bringing back live sports events even more exciting for the whole team at Sportsrooms.
