In addition to working with teams every week for their hotels for the season Sportsrooms has been organising pre-season training camps for several seasons. Pre-season is one of the most important times of the year for teams and this summer Sportsrooms worked with multiple Premier League and EFL clubs on their pre-season camps.
One of the teams Sportsrooms had the privilege of being asked to help organise their Pre-Season Training Camp was Derby County, ahead of their 2021-22 campaign. Following a specific team brief, we sourced a number of venues within the team’s budget and requirements and following a full analysis we secured them the highly sought after Pennyhill Park resort in South East England.
Pennyhill Park boasts a 124-bedroom and luxury spa hotel where each room is individually designed to give a welcoming feeling. The Spa is one of the biggest in Europe with approximately 45,000 sq ft of relaxation which the team were able to use after each days hard training.
The resort also boasts an impressive Elite Training Facility which includes a Outdoor Desso grass master sports pitch which is used regularly by many high-level teams including the England Rugby National teams and England Men’s Football team previously. The Indoor facility next to the pitch has a high specification gym, changing rooms and smaller indoor artificial training pitch, perfect for any gym or pre-activation work.
Matt Annis, Sportsrooms Account Manager for Derby County, was on site for the week to assist with arrival and check-in along with being around to assist in the logistics for the team throughout the week to enable them to fully focus on the hard work they had planned for the week. This role included working with the team on site at Pennyhill Park checking meal timings were adhered too and any queries of the players, staff and the media team were answered efficiently. Matt said “It was an absolute pleasure to assist the team at Derby County with their pre-season training camp this season. The whole week ran very smoothly, and only positive feedback has been received about the trip including how impressive the facilities were. A massive thank you to the backroom staff at Derby County for having me on site to help with their preparation.”
