Sportsrooms, Rutland based sports travel specialists, are proud to announce the launch of their new initiative ‘Green Team by Sportsrooms’. The initiative has been designed with the ultimate goal of achieving a zero-carbon sports team travel programme.
Highlighting the need for an increased focus on sustainability when it comes to sports team travel, Sportsrooms will work with its Green Team partners to actively look at ways of reducing sports teams carbon footprint for travel. This will include measuring, reporting, reducing where appropriate the environmental impact of team travel and then offsetting any remaining emissions through verified emission reduction projects. In addition, the initiative will help fund tree planting, wind farms, solar farms and many other projects in the UK and around the world.

By launching Green Team we are able to work with our sports team and sustainability partners to develop best practice in sustainable sports team travel. In addition, as part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability Sportsrooms recently announced its partnership with Forest Green Rovers, described by FIFA as “The world’s greenest football club”. Sportsrooms will be Forest Green Rovers Official Team Accommodation Partner and will work with the club to source hotels that champion sustainability whilst helping its hotel partners become more sustainable in everything they do including using renewable energies, recycling and developing more plant-based food options.
