As the 2021-22 football season comes to a close once again Sportsrooms teams have plenty to celebrate.
For the second season in a row teams that Sportsrooms are privileged to work with have been crowned champions of the EFL Championship and EFL League Two. Fulham and Forest Green Rovers following on from the success of Norwich City and Cheltenham Town in the 2020-21 season.
In the Championship, Fulham have been impressive from start to finish with Marco Silva’s free scoring side managing 106 goals on route to the title and the prolific Aleksandar Mitrovic scoring a Championship record 43 goals himself.
In League Two once again Forest Green Rovers led pretty much from start to finish of the season although the title was only sealed on a dramatic final day as the team managed to better Exeter City’s result to be crowned champions. The promotion also secure the team a place in the third tier of league football for the first time ever.
There were mixed fortunes for other teams that Sportsrooms work with during the 2021-22 season. Norwich City we’re unfortunately relegated from the Premier League but under Dean Smiths guidance look well placed to mount a serious challenge to bounce back. In League One Wycombe Wanderers rounded off another fantastic season with a trip to Wembley just coming up short on the day to a buoyant Sunderland side. Cheltenham Town on the back of their promotion season the year earlier finished the season in their highest ever league place whilst Burton Albion and Ipswich Town both showed enough to believe they can challenge for bigger things next season.
Finally whilst Derby County lost their valiant fight to stay in the Championship there bigger victory came off the field with their long term future now secured.
